The Ethan H. Freed Learning Center Construction

This page is being updated frequently with photos and information regarding the construction of YRF's new stand-alone English learning facility in Ramla. Please check back regularly to track our progress.

If you are interested in contributing to the costs of the center's construction and maintenance, please visit our donate page and indicate that your gift is in memory of Ethan Freed in the field provided.

Established in loving memory of Ethan Harrison Freed (1993-2006), the EHFLC is expected to open in fall 2010 and will have the capacity to instruct as many as 200 disadvantaged Israeli students at one time, eventually serving 5,000 students annually. Children of all ages and ethnicities will study here together, and teachers from the city's public schools will be trained to use the center's resources. The site of the Ethan Freed Learning Center is shown to the right of this photo, taken in January 2008 upon YRF's signing of a partnership contract with the municipality of Ramla to create the center.

After a considerable selection process, YRF hired an architecture firm. The design of the 2-story facility was modified and refined over several months to best fit the needs of the community.

Taken on December 22, 2009, a few weeks after construction began, this photo shows the initial concrete works for the first story's outer walls being erected.

Also taken on December 22, this photo shows an interior detail of the concrete works of the EHFLC's outer walls.
